Eucharist. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the normal way in which adults become active members of the Catholic Church. The goal of the process is full communion which means conscious and active participation in the Eucharist and in the whole life of the Catholic faith community.

The RCIA helps adults to grow in their relationship with God, become familiar with Catholic teachings and practices, get acquainted with people in the parish and get involved in service within the parish or the wider community.

RCIA classes are held from September to May on Tuesdays 7:00-9:00pm in Holy Rosary Hall, 650 Richards Street. Contact the office for information regarding the next group.

Marriages. Weddings usually take place in one’s proper parish. Parishioners of the Cathedral may contact the Cathedral priest of your choice to arrange a wedding.  Usually at least four months are required for preparation. Those under 19 years old must give longer notice and fulfil other special archdiocesan requirements for the marriage of minors. Weddings at the Cathedral are usually on Saturday, at 10:00am, 1:30pm, and 3:00pm. The Cathedral never books weddings by telephone. A personal interview is required. The Church is not definitely booked until all the paperwork is completed. Click on this link for Cathedral guidelines regarding Weddings.
