Emily
Cheung (soprano) is a recent
graduate of the Voice Performance program at the UBC School of Music, where she
studied with Bruce Pullan and Marisa Gaetanne. Recipient of numerous awards and
scholarships for her solo work from Kiwanis, BCAPAF Provincial Festival and
other music festivals, she has also been recognized with a Vancouver Women’s
Musical Society Bursary. Emily’s clarity of tone and engaging stage presence
makes her a sought after recitalist and ensemble performer.
Currently enjoying her third season with the Vancouver Chamber Choir, Emily has
been chosen to represent British Columbia
in the prestigious National Youth Choir twice. This July, she was one of two
singers selected to represent Canada in the World Youth Choir held in South
Africa and will perform with them again in China next summer.
In other musical
endeavors, Emily was just seen as the title role of Eve in E.V.E.S., a
futuristic musical which won Third Place
and the Audience Appreciation Award at the Mighty Asian Moviemaking Marathon
2007, produced by the Vancouver Asian Film Festival. |

Elspeth
Finlay (alto) has completed her Bachelor of Music as a Voice
Major in the Elementary Education Stream at the University of British Columbia
and has entered the Education Program.
She has been studying voice for 6 years, and has also been playing flute
and piano for about 12 years. Before coming to UBC, Elspeth completed her
Diploma of Music from Capilano College. During this period, she gained
incalculable experience as a member of the Capilano College Singers and
the Laudate Singers. In addition to her position with Holy Rosary Cathedral,
she is singing with the UBC University Singers and the UBC Vocal Jazz Ensemble. |
